I Need It Badly!

I Need It Badly!

I just finished writing an article titled ‘Why Are You Still Single?’. It captured the turn of events around me, making reference to the fact that there seems to be an internal pressure that gradually builds up when friends around you start getting engaged while its seems like you are left to explore the world of singleness. The article contained what I consider the antidote to that internal pressure – Patience. I mean I felt really happy with myself that I could put together something that encouraging to single folks out there who might be feeling discouraged and lonely.

Now, here I was encouraging my very close friend who had been crying and feeling very sad because her boo travelled to a state very far from hers and would be away for almost a month. I thought to myself ‘See me trying to figure out how to  live on top of whatever situation I find myself; how to be just fine without a boyfriend yet my friend that has one is crying because she is missing him… Life sha’

What can I say? We have this really awesome Father who is always willing to grant our heart desires, meet us at the point of our needs and ensure we have our desires granted even though He knows we will come back with yet again more requests. From “Lord I want a husband/wife” to “Father I want a beautiful wedding” to “Daddy I wan born pikin” then later it is “money for “Junior’s’ school fees” and the list goes on.

So whatever situation you find yourself, always remember that you aren’t the first to be there, there are people in worse situations, God will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able and there is a way out (1 Cor 10: 13) most importantly never forget that you have this really amazing Father who knows your needs and is never tired of meeting them. Cheers!!!

Good piece. While it’s very very important to have that special one in one’s life, I think the most important thing is to find oneself (discovering and working on the seed potentials God has placed in us) and then together with the that special one, these seed potentials can become tangible accomplishments that will create lasting legacies and value on the lives of generations.

@ Okechukwu, you are very correct. Adam himself had direction and knew what he was to do (work in and watch over Eden) before God said it was not good for man to be alone and that He make a helper for him Gen 2:15&18.

Reading this all I could do was just laugh out loud! Cos this just happened to me yesterday! Saw my secondary classmates who just finished get engaged. In fact not just one but alot of my friends and I was like “ahhhh! See my mates o, mi sef I don’t even have a boo talk more of being engaged and the truth is that I felt bad and alone! I was like is it that the guys over here are not seeing mi or what? Loool! But as the day ended I had to talk to God and tell him how far. I told him how I felt and all and I felt better. So please it’s okay to feel sad and alone but don’t forget you have a very loving father who ll always want to hear you talk to him! Well done emmanuella, God bless u.

Loool! This was me few days ago when I saw another of my class mates get engaged and I was like ahn ahn ! People are getting engaged and I don’t even have a booo talk more of an engagement! I was like is it that the guys over here are nt seein me or what? Loool! But at the end of the day I had to talk with God o! Told him how I felt o and I asked him for comfort and I felt better! So it’s okay to feel alone and sad , it’s okay to feel like you’re left behind while ur mates are ahead of u but don’t forget to always lay it down to your ever loving and caring father who is always available to hear from us and comfort us! And let’s use our singleness to develop ourselves! Get books and read, listen to sermons, attend Christian conferences, surround ourselves with the right people and await till God says it’s time u meet the one he has prepared for u! Thank u emmanuella , reading and Knowing I’m not alone in this has encouraged mi! God bles u dear
